The HOPE Cathedral
Church of God in Christ

“THE JUDAH CHURCH”

Est. 1996

The Lord gave a vision of “HOPE” to Bishop Michael D. Wilson, D.D. and from that vision The HOPE Cathedral was birthed.  The name of the church became a vital part of the ministry, because it embodied his vision.  In giving the vision, God revealed the meaning of the word HOPE in the form of an acronym, which is HOPE (Help Open People’s Eyes.) The Lord showed Bishop Wilson that he must reach out to the people, no matter their circumstance, to let them know that there is HOPE for every man, woman, and child to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior.  The church  seeks to “Recapture the Wounded”, “Restore the Backslider”, and “Reach the Unsaved”.  The ongoing theme that this church wants to convey to all that may enter through the doors is that, “Satan is Defeated, God is Exalted and Jesus is Lord".

The HOPE Cathedral was founded upon humble beginnings.  The first service was held on Sunday, January 14, 1996 in the home of a parishioner at 1143 Winston Drive, Decatur, Georgia 30032.  There were approximately ten members in attendance.  This would be the first and last service held at this particular location.  God began to move in even a more miraculous way.  On January 19, 1996, the lease was signed and our new church location became 4213 Fellowship Road, Suite A, Tucker, Georgia 30084.  The Lord continued to bless this church in so many different ways.  He gave the church favor with local businesses. His favor enabled us to purchase musical instruments, acoustical equipment, office equipment and other various necessities. He has supplied all of our needs and it can truly be said that everything we have asked for we have received.  The ministry continued to prosper and through His magnificent power and awesome kindness, the Lord allowed The Cathedral to relocate to an even larger facility.

The HOPE Cathedral is apart of Church Of God In Christ, Inc (Memphis, TN), Bishop Charles E. Blake, Presiding Bishop. The church is also apart of The Central Georgia Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, under the leadership of Former Presiding Bishop, Chandler David Owens. The HOPE Cathedral serves as District Headquarters for the Judah District, which is founded by Bishop Michael D. Wilson, who serves as District Superintendent.

The final chapter of The HOPE Cathedral Church of God In Christ has not been written. Only God knows the conclusion. We believe that God has even greater things in store for us, if we continue to humble ourselves and diligently work for Him.

Come, and let's make History together!
